What We Do
Pacific Reach plans, coordinates, escorts and executes small group tours to Japan, and only Japan. We are directly involved in every aspect of any tour we give our name to. We build itineraries, secure airline space, rail passes, bus passes, accommodation, and entrance tickets for every facet of the trip. We prepare recommended packing lists, emergency contact info, gift recommendations, and etiquette advice.
In the weeks and months leading up to the trip we are available in our offices to address questions and concerns any day, by phone or email. Prior to departure we hold a comprehensive orientation meeting for all participants, cover any and all aspects of the trip that haven't yet been addressed, and exhaust everyone's questions.
When the trip begins we have someone on the ground with the group 24/7, from the arrival airport all the way to the departure airport. Our coordinators handle all the tickets, reservations, transportation, checking in and out of hotels and ryokan, introductions, and all the basic troubleshooting.
The types of trips we do:
Adventure Tours- we specialize in bringing people to see Japan the best way possible: in small groups, staying in traditional, family-run inns and using public transportation whenever possible. These trips are designed to give travelers maximum exposure to the local people and culture, to allow for the most flexible personal schedule, and to eliminate all of the most egregious frustrations of foreign travel.
Student Trips- much of our business is dedicated to creating and running projects for student groups. These trips focus on homestay programs and school visits, along with plenty of sightseeing and other activities. They are built in cooperation with teachers and parents.
Custom Tours- we create customs tours from the ground up for groups of almost any size and any objective. If there’s something you want to see or do in Japan, we will make it happen. For incentives, team-building, research or just for fun, we will build the trip you want.
