A key part of our programs is seeing Japan itself. When we aren’t in homestay or visiting a sister school, we’re on the move. We ride the shinkansen all across Japan, and stop to explore Kyoto, Hiroshima, Nara and elsewhere. The programs are built to show you a cross-section of Japan’s most famous historical and cultural sights, while still leaving plenty of free time to check out the high tech, pop-culture scene. And of course, we’re with you every step of the way.
Rather than see the country from the inside of a bus, with droning guides talking to you about the things we're passing, we get out and delve into the real Japan. In addition to the bullet trains we travel by subway, public bus and on foot to get you right in with the the public. The days can be tiring, but every day is full.
Built into each trip is plenty of free time to explore on your own. Our tour coordinators are never far away, and will be on the spot if you have a need, but we know that a basic part of traveling to a new place is getting to know it on your own terms. You'll have time to shop, eat, investigate and enjoy.
Our Tour Coordinators are trained and experienced. We've been doing this a long time, and we're more than happy to tell you everything we know, or as little as you need to hear. All we ask is that you listen closely to directions and suggestions, and try not to get lost!
